The new gal on the block...
Say hello to the new member of the gang…
Dusky Pink
We've got a beauty of a new glaze and we'd love you to meet her, this is Dusky Pink.
Glaze making is one of those things that can be tricky to get right so when you come across a winner, it calls for celebration.
We’ve had this glaze for a little bit (used exclusively for restaurants) but we’ve decided to make it one of our regulars as we love it - especially that beautiful overlap where it reacts with the transparent glaze… lovely! The subtle variation of colours range from soft yellows and flecks of white to deep hazy pinks. It has a lovely velvety finish (similar to the turquoise) and beautiful streaks are created when it reacts with the iron flecks in the speckled clay.
If you’d like to get something in this lovely shade, it’s now available on all our usual pieces for “pre-order” in our shop. Take a look if you fancy…
With the new addition we thought it was time to rename our glazes to more accurately describe the range of colours and settled on a theme of natural names. But there was one glaze we were a bit stuck on - originally named “Deep pink/brown” (imaginative… we know - hence the need for a change!!) So this called for a competition and we put it to you creative lot to come up with something better, something which illustrates the variation in colour this glaze is prone to.
Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions!
After some deliberation we decided on a hybrid of 2 names and chose “Raspberry Rust” as our new name. So along with the new addition, your regular favourites new names are:
Forest Green, Turquoise Sea, Raspberry Rust, Dusky Pink, Satin Stone Grey & Satin Snowdrop. (Images of each glaze on both the speckled & creamy white clays)
